CFTR: Week To Jan 9th

Some good reads this week. Several outlook summaries looking at the consensus crowded trades for 2021, a discussion from the FT on Green and ESG bonds and how the premium may develop. Inequality is a topic that crops up over and over with Central Bank largess as the root cause, several of the reads cover income inequality, valuation and return prospects. ETFs and passive managers have certainly benefited from Cental Bank intervention – the liquidity doom loop that was expected to see them fail – did not emerge thanks to CB support. The slightly more technical reads are the BOE’s paper on using Machine Learning to predict bank stress and the National Law Review’s look at the new solvency laws in Germany which will definitely impact European High Yield in 2021.
